The Easiest Way I've Found to Create Shadow Shades

We often overlook shadow shades until we turn on the light and then WOW!
illuminated by light, the shadows show and catch your eyes - adding
mood and wonder. Here's how I enhanced an ordinary shade with
lovely shadows ... and sparkle...

Supply List for Shadow Shades:

Fabric lampshade
Stencil
White Chalk
Gallery Glass Crystal Beads by Plaid
FolkArt
Dimensional Glitter 4450 Ice Sparkle

Instructions:

Place stencil of choice inside the shade.
Fill in stencil with chalk.
Place shade on lamp
Turn on light.
Lightly outline the shape on the outside of shade with chalk.
Remove shade from lamp.
Lightly fill in outline with fabric paint.
Sprinkle with Crystal Beads
(preferred because they have no holes)
Allow to dry
Enjoy!

The shadow chalk outline shows through above.

About the crystal beads: These beads, just perfect tiny round spheres, really catch the light and would be gorgeous added to enhance print fabric shades too. The paint adds a subtle sparkle too. The lightest touch of paint is all that is needed because the spheres are so tiny and light. One little package goes a long way.

This is beautiful! I've decorated a lot of lamp shades. But I've never thought of doing this. A subtle face lift.
